Discover the iconic world of Frida Kahlo, picturesque Coyoacan, and the vibrant canals of Xochimilco, plus the impressive murals of UNAM on this colorful cultural tour!
Our first stop will be Coyoacan, whose name in Nahuatl means 'place of coyotes'. Here, our local guide will give you a brief explanation about the origin and importance of this neighborhood and its surroundings, and you will also have time to walk through its streets and if you want, have a light breakfast (on your own).
Next, depending on the option you select, you will visit either the Frida Kahlo Museum (Blue House) or the Casa Kahlo (Red House). At the Blue House, you will explore Frida’s former home, where she was born and later died, and discover the deep connection between her life, her work, and the spaces she cherished. At Casa Kahlo, you will experience a modern and immersive interpretation of Frida’s world through sensory rooms and contemporary storytelling that celebrate her legacy from a fresh perspective.
The tour NEXT continues to Ciudad Universitaria, where our local guide will reveal the meaning behind the extraordinary murals of the Rectory and the Central Library, located on the main campus of the National University. With more than 110 murals of different sizes and styles, this open-air gallery will amaze you with its unique way of narrating Mexico’s history.
The final stop is one of Frida Kahlo’s favorite places: Xochimilco. Here, you will learn about the area’s pre-Hispanic origins and enjoy a relaxing ride aboard a traditional trajinera. If you selected the lunch option, you will also indulge in a Mexican meal at a local restaurant before the boat ride. Afterward, take advantage of your free time to explore the handicraft market or sample more local flavors from the surrounding vendors.
Enjoy a day full of history, tradition, and culture—and be astonished by the beautiful landscapes and artistic spirit that Mexico has to offer!
Please bear in mind that if you dont book now the option that includes the Frida Kahlo Museum, you wont be able to purchase the tickets on-site, as they will be sold out.
