Guided tropical fruit picking from Costa Rica in San José

This is not a cooking class or a typical gastronomic tour: it is a delicious and revealing trip to the extraordinary biodiversity of Costa Rica, guided by a passionate lover of local fruits.

If you choose the complete experience, your day begins inside one of San José's busy markets, where your host selects by hand and opens fruit that you've probably never seen, seen or tried before. Do you prefer to skip the walk? The tasting sitting alone is equally immersive, offering the same deep immersion into Costa Rica's flavor ecosystem.

As you test each fruit, you will discover the nutritional and healing traditions passed down from generation to generation, the hidden indigenous and colonial histories beneath the skin of each ingredient, and the seasonal rhythms and agricultural customs that shape life in Central America. Your host also shares culinary tips and fun local secrets that reveal how Costa Ricans enjoy these fruits at home, mixed into drinks, added to dishes or consumed directly from the market place.

From bright and acidic to creamy and floral, from sweet and tropical to earthy and surprising, each mouthful invites you to rediscover the fruit in Costa Rican style: with curiosity, culture and joy guiding each flavor.
