On which days does the tour operate? Big Bus Tours Washington DC operates 363 Days a year as we are closed on 24th November (Thanksgiving) & 25th December. (Christmas Day) Occasionally, service may be affected by roadworks, city events, poor weather and other unpredictable circumstances, so please check with a member of staff or check our service information for the most up-to-date Tour scheduling information.
Do I need to specify a date for travel? Yes â you will need to CHOOSE the date youâd like to hop on the bus. If youâre touring with them for more than one day, your ticket must be used across consecutive days, and the date you CHOOSE at time of booking should be the first day of your tour. Some tours also require you to CHOOSE a time of travel, to guarantee your seat. If your ticket includes extras, you may also need to book additional dates & times for all elements of your ticket after your purchase is complete. What is the child ticketing policy? Child tickets are available for children aged between 3 and 12 years. Children aged 2 years and under may travel free of charge. Children aged 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers and pushchairs must be folded and stowed on the lower deck.
Accessibility Big Bus operates wheelchair accessible vehicles that can accommodate weight up to 650 pounds. Please be advised that the entire fleet in Washington DC is not wheelchair accessible. If you or your travelling partner(s) requires an ADA accessible vehicle, please contact Big Bus no less than 48 hours prior to your planned tour commencement. They can NEXT arrange for a suitable vehicle to be available at the time and location required. Please also note that passengers with mobility impairments may not be able to access the upper deck on our buses. They cannot guarantee the accessibility of the various attractions along the tour.
Day Tour Departure Times First tour of the day departs at 09.30 am from Stop 1 at Union Station, and buses will come every 30 minutes until 4.30pm depending on the of time of year. Other popular stops to start the tour include Stop 9 at the FDR and MLK Memorial and Stop 15 at the Natural History Museum however you can redeem your ticket at any of up to 17 Big Bus stops. Refunds To request a refund, if booked directly with Big Bus Tours visit the Big Bus Tours App or by using the enquiry form available on the website bigbustours.com/contactWDC. If you booked via a 3rd partner, please go back to the original booker agent for your refund request.
