Become immersed in the world of Downton Abbey with this spectacular filming locations tour. Travel from Central London to Oxford via mini coach and rewatch iconic episodes of the award-winning period drama along the way.
The first stop is Bampton. Located in Oxfordshire, this charming village is often referred to as Downton Village. Your expert guide will take you on a slow-paced walking tour of the village, showcasing iconic sites including the exterior of Downton hospital, the village pub, and the former home of Matthew Crawley.
Throughout the day, you will gain insight into how the TV series was made. Learn about the actors as well as the wonderful history of the places you visit on the tour.
Highclere is the next stop of the tour and is used as the main Downton Abbey set. You’ll visit Highclere Castle and learn about its fascinating history.
Food can be purchased at Highclere Castle or you can bring your own lunch and enjoy afternoon tea in the beautiful grounds. You’ll be able to independently explore the ‘Above Stairs’ area on the ground and first floor. The areas of the castle you will be able to visit include the entrance, library, music room and drawing room. You can also see the morning room, staircase, saloon, dining room and the servant’s staircase.
As you wander around the estate, you will be able to imagine life as it was over 100 years ago. Experience the world of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants.

Came away with a good impression. The walking Tour Of Bampton is worth it on its own. Only gripe: the group was a bit larger than we expected. I do recommend it, with the caveats above.

Better than expected
Best day of our stay in Londres. Excellent guide with a deep knowledge of the local history. A full day outdoors that flies by. Compared with doing it yourself, it works out well. If you are in Londres, do not miss it.

Boa escolha se for sua primeira vez em Londres. Tudo pontual e bem organizado. A região de Matthew Crawley Gran à noite é outra coisa. Avisamos que tinha um vegetariano no grupo e resolveram sem problema. A música estava um pouco alta para conversar. Recomendo mesmo assim.

A solid way to see Londres. Having entry To Highclare Castle makes all the difference. We loved the Above Stairs Cemetery area. Very friendly guide, though the group was large and they could not reach everyone. Booking was straightforward and confirmation came through instantly. Some stops need more shade while you wait. I would do it again anyway.

Nos gustó bastante, con un par de detalles menores. El recorrido a pie por Bampton vale por sí solo. Se puede hacer tranquilo sin estar en estado físico. Muy buena relación precio calidad. Hubo un rato muerto en el medio que se podría aprovechar mejor. Vale la pena, sabiendo lo anterior.
