ITINERARY
At 8:00 a.m. we will meet to leave for the Cerros de Amotape National Park, the best preserved equatorial dry forest in the entire region.
We will travel 35 kilometers by road from Tumbes and reach the Angostura ravine, the access point to the national park. From there, the bus will take us to the Alambique ravine, where we will undertake a simple 30-minute hiking route following the course of the stream. Archaeological material rescued from studies of northern cultures, prior to the Incas, is exhibited here.
During the walk we will have the opportunity to appreciate the biodiversity of the Amotape Hills, where mammals, birds, insects and even reptiles such as snakes and iguanas live. Also, did you know that some of the trees in the park reach 30 meters in height?
Then, we will go up to a viewpoint within the park from which it is possible to see Tumbes and the border between Peru and Ecuador.
You will see that the walk will have been worth it when we reach the FINAL of the trail, where the Huarapal ravine awaits us. In this waterfall you will have time to rest and bathe in its natural pool. Perfect for cooling off after your hike.
After enjoying this enclave, we will go to the town of Cabuyal to have lunch that includes a starter, main course and a drink.
Finally, we will leave the Cerros de Amotape to return to Tumbes.
