A walk through an imposing ravine, in which you will have the unique opportunity to visit not only the hill of 7 colors, but also the majestic hill of 14 colors on the same day!
We will travel to the majestic hill of 14 colors, also known as the Serranías del Hornocal. This excursion will allow us to appreciate the most impressive colors of Northern Argentina, its culture, its unique towns and its people.
We will depart from the city of Salta, leaving through the central access of the city, taking RN 9 and then entering the municipality of General Güemes, through RN 34. Later, we will enter the sister province of Jujuy, where We will have the opportunity to visit the great Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its imposing landscapes and its picturesque towns such as Volcán, Purmamarca where we will find the majestic Cerro de los 7 Colores; Tilcara; Humahuaca, the largest town in the ravine; Uquía, a small town where the church of San Francisco de Paula is located, dating from the 17th century, where the ancient paintings of the Arquebuceros Angels reside, coming from Cuzco-Peru, painted at the time of colonization; Huacalera, where we step on the imaginary cut of the Tropic of Capricorn and finally, La Paleta del Pintor in Maimará.
Instead of visiting the town of Humahuaca as on the regular excursion, we will move to the Serranias del Hornocal. In this case, we recommend bringing your own picnic for lunch once you return. We meet the group to begin the way back, alternating stops.
During the tour there are stops to walk and take photos!
The minimum for this tour is 2 passengers for hiring. (If the vehicle is not complete with 4 passengers, the activity does not take place).
Please note that there are some hotels in the city that are not included in our pickup routes. If your hotel is not included, we will contact you to inform you of the closest pick up location. We ask that you wait for the guide in the lobby of the hotel indicated.
During peak holiday seasons (July and January), tours may operate on buses with a capacity of up to 50 passengers. In these cases, hotel pick-up services will not be provided; a meeting point will be established in the city center instead.
We recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, sneakers, and comfortable clothing for walking. Carry water to stay hydrated and avoid cramps. Bring your lunch or picnic to eat on the way back from Hornocal, since we spend lunch hours in Humahuaca to go and return to the mountains.
