Description
The infamous Killing Fields have a bloody history. Once an orchard and a Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rouge, led by Pol Pot, turned into what became known as the Killing Fields. Over four years, they massacred and buried 2.5 million people.
After taking a respectful moment to remember the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Prison, which translates to 'hill of the poisonous trees'. Pol Pot turned this once famous high school into a high-security prison. About 20,000 people were imprisoned there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today, it serves as a museum and a reminder of darker days.
Your tuk-tuk will pick you up from your hotel in Phnom Penh and drive you to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, about 15 km south of Phnom Penh.

We had a good time, recommended with a caveat or two. The stop at Cambodian was our favourite. Very friendly guide, though the group was large and they could not reach everyone. At rush hour the traffic stretches the route out quite a bit. Still recommended.

Buena experiencia
Lo haría de nuevo, aunque cambiaría un par de cosas. Volvimos a Tuk Tuk al día siguiente por nuestra cuenta. Sacamos muchísimas fotos, el recorrido pasa por los lugares justos. El único detalle fue que faltó agua disponible, sobre todo con el calor. Buena opción, sobre todo si es tu primera visita.

Estuvo bueno, con altibajos. Buena logística, se ve que lo hacen todos los días. El salón de Cambodian Filadelfia es una joya en sí mismo. Tardaron en traer las bebidas al principio. Se puede mejorar, pero no me arrepiento de haberlo hecho.

Worth doing
We had a good time, recommended with a caveat or two. The transport by Tuk Tuk was well thought out. It was very windy the day we went, which cut one stop short. There is room to improve, but no regrets.
